How a game goes
- Pick a ready-made theme, or type your own topic.
- EpiQuiz builds the game and shows a code: a real word in your language — ACORN, AGENT, ALBUM.
- Your friends open the app, type the code, and appear in the lobby.
- You start it: everyone answers at once, each on their own screen.
- The standings show after every question, and again at the end.
Common questions
- How many people can play at once?
- Up to 100 in a custom game. In practice a night-in runs between three and eight players, and the pace holds up to about twenty.
- Do my friends need an account?
- No. A nickname is enough to join and play. An account is for keeping your progress across devices, not for getting into a game.
- Do we all have to be in the same room?
- No. The code works remotely too — everyone plays on their own phone, wherever they are. It is simply funnier when you can all hear each other complain.
- Can I replay the same quiz?
- Yes. Quizzes you make are kept in My Quizzes, and you can start a new game on one whenever you like.
